An Open Letter appeared in the Town News a week ago from the owners of the 35 Acre property located on Soldier Hill Road. In he article the owners appear to indicate that they will take full responsibility of cleaning up the contamination. However, after the contaminants are cleaned they propose to develop the property.
The owner brings up some valid points regarding the contaminates and has a plan of action to get it cleaned. The owner also states that they :
"will clean-up restore the environmentally sensitive area, provide housing that will increase neighbors' property values and add much needed dollars to the Borough coffers with minimal impact on its overworked services. Residents should take a look at all the information on the web page and evaluate it ...it appears that the reports on contamination do exist, and although it may be a bit much to read, it can bring allot of light to the situation.
The proposed plan sounds promising however, will this ever get off the ground? The Fundamental concern as a resident is to have the site cleaned ASAP!
